‘It’s not often I’ve been left speechless after reading a book’

‘This. Book. Here. All of my flabbers were gasted. Over and over. I read this book in like a day. Literally could not put it down. I’m still trying to find the proper words to describe this book. Let me sit on this and come back.’

‘This book warns you at the beginning, it is dark and unfiltered. The raw emotion you will feel from this absolute rollercoaster of a book is not for the faint of heart.’

Most crime writers have never stepped foot into a police station. I am the real deal.

Almost ten years of frontline service on the razor edge of society. Murders. Bloodshed. High adrenaline blue light emergency calls, and more.

All poured into cut throat thrillers and true accounts from the front line.

It’s time to stop playing it safe with reading. It’s time for thrillers with the safety off.

Jay Darkmoore is a British author best known for his work in the policing non-fiction, and thriller genres. Born in Salford, England, he moved around a lot before settling in the town of Wigan.

Darkmoore joined the police service when he was 23 and began self-publishing crime thrillers. His Detective Laura Warburton series gained recognition and reached number one on Amazon’s crime fiction bestseller lists, with readers praising the authenticity drawn from his policing experience.

After nearly a decade of service, Darkmoore left the police and wrote his police memoir, ‘The Job’s Fucked – The Secret Diary of a Police Officer’, which gained widespread interest due to its no-holds-barred look at the UK police service, incorporating dark humour, real-life anecdotes and a voice for those who have none.

The book hit multiple bestseller lists and landed him interviews on major media outlets, including Triggernometry, The Daily Telegraph and The Hodgecast.

Darkmoore’s novels often explore dark and psychological themes, captivating readers with his ability to create chilling atmospheres and complex characters. Darkmoore is praised for his fresh voice in the thriller genre, as he is unafraid to cross lines and boundaries should it drive the story forward. His novels do not shy away from disturbing subjects, moral ambiguity or the darker sides of human behaviour. The world is dark, cruel and cold, and this is reflected in his character-driven novels.

Darkmoore is a prolific writer, consistently producing dark, fast-paced thrillers, and hosts a ‘Crime Club’ where he shares behind-the-scenes content for his most dedicated fans.

He describes himself as a ‘one-man army’, independently writing, publishing and marketing his work while pursuing his ambition to become one of the world’s leading crime thriller authors.

Darkmoore currently lives in the North West of England with his partner, Laura, his son, Joe, and their crazy Springer Spaniel, Miles.
