Following my early career in writing horror and dark fantasy, I wanted to write something that I had experience in. I wanted to write about policing. Using my ten years of frontline police experience, and feeling underwhelmed with other crime thrillers I had picked up over the years, I couldn’t help but feel that I could do this myself, and I could do it a lot better than most of the other writers out there.
And boy, don’t the reviewers reflect it.

This series was the one that really got me some notoriety, from hitting the Amazon bestseller charts at the number one spot to landing me interviews, speaking gigs, and over ten thousand followers (at the time of writing) to date.

This series was one that really let me get my own demons out. Being a survivor of trauma and domestic abuse myself, I found writing this series a type of therapy; both unloading what I had experienced in my personal life and telling stories of what I had seen and dealt with in my professional life.
